Abstract painting about meditation.

Abstract Paintings

My abstract paintings come about by choosing my palette, surface and miscellaneous materials like oil pastels and then just playing with form, color, line, texture and pattern. I give little thought to composition or meaning or storyline. I try to let my intuition flow. I like to paint without any idea of representing a particular object or scene. I like the feeling of layering colors, shapes and lines on top of each other with little forethought. For me, abstract art has the ability to express what other visual art styles cannot. It can address ideas that are indefinable and imaginary, existing in mind and spirit, rather than in concrete reality. I think abstract art can touch the emotions in an inventive, authentic and thought provoking way.
