My abstract paintings come about by choosing my palette, surface and miscellaneous tools and brushes and then just playing with form, color, line, texture and pattern. I give little thought to composition or meaning or story line. I try to let my intuition memories and emotions flow.
I like to paint one layer with various brush strokes and marks. I then paint another layer, sometimes covering some of the bottom layer. This process continues until I am happy with the results.
Since my primary interest is nature, I am always envisioning some kind of natural memory or scene that I just let flow onto my paint brush and canvas.
